Moxidectin development and business case scenarios
Presented during the first meeting of the Global Onchocerciasis Network for Elimination (GONE), in a technical progress session on moxidectin development and business case scenarios. The update was presented with Barbara Roth and Deirdre Hollingsworth and summarised modelling work used to assess where moxidectin, alone or in combination with albendazole, could add value for onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis programmes.
The business case considered use cases, health impact, cost-effectiveness, demand, financial viability, and the trade-offs that national programmes, funders, producers, and global partners would need to weigh when considering introduction of moxidectin-based strategies in endemic areas.
