I am Manuela Runge, an infectious disease epidemiologist focused on using data and quantitative methods to support public health decision-making. My work is driven by the knowledge that many diseases and adverse health outcomes are preventable, treatable, or reducible through well-informed interventions.

I apply a broad range of quantitative tools, from statistical analysis that identifies factors influencing health and disease outcomes to simulation modeling that projects the potential impact of interventions in populations.

Much of my experience is in malaria research in Sub-Saharan Africa. I have also contributed to projects on neglected tropical diseases, including onchocerciasis and lymphatic filariasis, as well as COVID-19, West Nile virus, and measles. My international work experience includes Germany, Switzerland, Tanzania, and the United States.
